THE CLOUD GARDEN

A drought-loving garden frothing with native and Mediterranean flowers through spring and summer, which crackle into golden seed in the fall. The clarkias open into jester’s-hat-shaped seedheads. The ruby buckwheats turn a russet brown and are gorged on by birds. The garden is a haven for native bees, butterflies, hoverflies, and songbirds.
